Finding the Right Agent

Are you looking for a real estate agent?  Here are a few tips for finding one who will work for you.

 

  1. Ethics: There are agents, and then there are qualified Realtors®.  A Realtor® belongs to the National Association of Realtors® and must follow a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.  This code establishes a level of behavior higher than legal or business practice standards.  Only qualified Realtors® have incomparable knowledge of real estate processes, and are the experts of residential and commercial property transactions.
  2. Marketing: Find a Realtor® who will not just put a sign in the yard and wait for buyers to come knocking.  Today, it takes a blend of traditional marketing, Internet marketing, and sophisticated lead development systems to get the job done.
  3. Personality:  Find a Realtor® who you feel comfortable with and will listen to what you want.
  4. Feedback: Find a Realtor® who will let you know what is going on every step of the sales process.  Lack of feedback is typically the #1 complaint against agents.  E-mail, Facebook, phone calls, face-to-face contact.—-whatever works best for you.
  5. Recommendations: Find a Realtor® who has great recommendations from prior clients.
  6. Credentials: Find a Realtor® who has credentials that show expertise in marketing.
  7. Experience: Find a Realtor® who has experience with the area you are interested in buying and selling.
  8. Professionalism: Find a Realtor® who is expert at pricing strategy, market preparation, marketing, negotiations, transaction management, and closing coordination.
